Applesauce Cinnamon Dough Recipe
Materials Needed:
1 Cup Applesauce
1 Cup Cinnamon
Instructions:
Mix the applesauce and the cinnamon until it gets to be a nice clay consistancy. If it is too sticky, add a bit more cinnamon or even a touch of flour.
You can make shapes and designs or even use cookie cutters. Put the shapes in a warm, dry spot to dry - this takes a few days! You know how sweet-smelling sculptures to decorate and/or paint. They make nice gifts.
Bread Clay
Instructions for making clay out of slices of bread.
Materials Needed:
7 Pieces of White Bread
7 Tsp School Glue
1/2 Tsp Water
1/2 Tsp Dish soap
Instructions:
Cut the crusts off the pieces of bread. Break the bread into small pieces and put them a medium sized bowl. Add the glue and mix thoroughly. Add the water and dish soap and mix until you get a nice clay consistancy. If you mixture is too dry, add a bit more water. You can make shapes and let air dry, which takes about 24 hours.
Cooked Playdough Recipe
Instructions for making cooked playdough using flour.
Materials Needed:
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
2 Tbsp Oil
2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
1 Cup Water
Food Coloring
Instructions:
Kids, please make sure you get an adult's help with this recipe!
Heat the oil in a pot. Remove from heat and stir in all other ingredients (use food coloring if desired). Continue to cook over low heat until mixture is firm, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat, set clay mixture on waax paper, and let cool.
Salt dough Play Doh
What you'll need:
1 Large bowl
1 Cookie sheet
1 Rolling pin
1 cup Salt
1 1/4 cups Warm water
1 Mixing spoon or mixer
3 cups Flour
1 plastic bag
1 refrigerator
painting supplies
How to make it:
DAY ONE
Pour 1 cup salt into large bowl.
Add 1 1/4 cups warm water, mix well.
Add 3 cups flour, mix well some more.
Knead into ball, seal in plastic bag and refrigerate.
DAY TWO
Take out.
Mold into anything you want!
Set aside.
DAY THREE (if not hard yet, put in oven for awhile)
Paint, if you wish. You may wish to put on cardboard first.
Set aside.
DAY FOUR
Notes:
This craft takes 4 days to properly set once you've modeled and painted an object.
