goals and weigh loss goes here!

Post by redrooster on Jun 28, 2009 22:11:59 GMT -8
Here we go ladies that are looking to lose some weight.....I will start this off, I weigh-in last night at 250 lbs (eating habits changed since I had to go to school last week) but will lose them 3 lbs soon enough.
My current goal is to lose a 100 lbs by Christmas Eve which will put me a 182lbs....and then I can go shopping for new clothes (lol)..
Will have a weekly weigh in, but please don't weigh yourself every day cause you can go up and down, and get frustrasted like I did, so now I only weigh myself every sunday night.

How did I miss the weight loss topics? I will continue to check in to see how you are going. I think my biggest problem is letting everyone else influence my eating habits. Like my mother is always saying eat this, you are going to maker yourself sick if you don't eat more than you do now. Since we have to cook for here it is hard to fix only what I want to eat. She doesn't want to eat diet food!!!!. FRIED CHICKEN, POTATOES, BEANS AND CORNBREAD ARE HER IDEA OF GOOD FOODS. Of course it is ; but not every day.

Well tiny that is how I went from a size 5 to a size 14 in my younger day's, my Grandfather had a fit cause of what I was eating, and would say your going to blow right away if a good gust of wind come's. So now I eat what I want and if no one like's it tough, around here I cook sometimes 3 different types of meal's. LOL

Love to walk but can not . Every time I do I end up being told not too. The bones in my back are breaking and crushing. Flax seed and the really important one Vitamin c are deadly toxic to me . Stops my breathing since I was about 5 or 6 years old. I always compensated the vit-c metabolism with running and skating and was always thin. So I am well aware of the value of exercise for me. Today is 3:00 pm and I have had 2 hard boiled eggs and 1 cup of cottage cheese ,4 cups of coffee and 2 cups of water. Still not Hungary at all. Wrote the biggest loser and got a very nice sorry see your Dr. Letter for advice . No one will touch a nerve damaged back patient.

I can't walk either, but I USE A PORTABLE BIKE EXERCISER. it sits on the floor and I can pedal while sitting in my wheelchair and watching TV. Better than no exercise at all. And it is good for blood circulation in the legs.

Tiny that was just what I was thinking of the bike exerciser you can use while sitting, sure is better then none at all. Wish I could eat like my hubby, man he must eat 7 slices of bread a day, chip's, ice cream, candy, cakes, cookies you name it he's eating it, and his weight is great, blood pressure, cholestrol and if I ate that I would be dead by now. they love all the fat stuff. So that is why I have so many thing's for meal's. Brooke I have heard that coffee can stop the weight loss process, I have one cup a day, but green tea is super for you and weight loss, like RedRooster said, but I drink the tea, also drink the protein shakes like Special K one. ro

Oh my! what fun it is to see other opinion on this topic..... well, I'm a day late... I had to work the 3:00 to 11:00 pm yetersday so didn't get to weigh in till late last night, but I'm currently at 245 so took off another 5lbs..... Has anyone seen that show dancing your a$$ off? ? I watched it today for the first time and oh how funny......if you haven't seen it try to watch it, it will put a whole nother outlook on heavy folks and what they can do.... I'm not a doctor, but brooke I think you should try a low carb diet since you are resticted from walking, and other activities and since folks who ran and playing sports believe in high carbs, I would try to elilminate them as much as I could..... Ro... can you tell me how many carbs are in the special K protein shakes, cause I drink the EAS protein shakes and there are only 3 carbs would maybe like to try other brands....if they have different favors....

Red rooster there are 29 carb's in those shakes and 18 grams sugar, I forgot what the carb's were for the day, been so long since low carb diet and I know there is a formula for carb and minus somthing to get the true carb. Your doing wonderful, keep up the good job. I really have to get back in the loop, want to lose 10 pounds by Aug 19th.

Thanks tiny. I have a ball I sit on and a bike kills my lower nerve. Next surgery will be cages and rods down the spine and hope to be back and walking then. My daily food is usually 1 hard boiled egg for breakfast 1/2 cup of vegs for lunch with a glass of milk. 1 piece of meat chicken or fish with a yogurt for dinner. My intake of calories is less then 600 a day. Dr tried to get me to eat 1000 calories a day said i was not eating enough. Gained 15 lbs in 2 weeks and he said my diet was fine. Never tried the shakes. do like special k cereal

Hey girls, check out the Sparkpeople.com web site. It is free and has loads of tools for tracking your weigjht lodss journey. When you register, it will calculate the approx. number of calories you need to be eating. depending on the information you provide. Ther are challenges and groups to join. I REALLY LIKE TRACKING MY FOOD AND FITNESS on the site.My user name is littlelulu5 on the site. Hope to see you there. My breakfast was a nutrisystem muffin, 1 oz. lowfat cheese and 6 fresh cherries and a glass of 2% milk.My exercise is bending and stooping over to unpack boxes to sort for a yard sale in August. I have gone through about 6 boxes and feel like I need a nap; but I will get back at it after I get a drink.

I FINALLY LOST ANOTHER POUND. I have been stuck at 234 lbs. for weeks. So I increased my calorie s by 200 and increased my water to 8 cups per day and only one diet soda a day. This morning the scale was 233 lbs. I really like Sparkpeople for tracking calories, exercise and calories burned. tmarie49 do you have a spark page set up yet?

Gee I never noticed this posting before and reading through it - has given me an insentive to get myself on my exercise bike again. Before we went north I was riding it at least 5 times a week for 1/2 hour. My cholesteral went down and I lost a few pounds. I haven't done anything since May and I know it!! I would like to lose about 40 pounds so I think I will hop on the bike and start in. I was line dancing every week which was great, but the arthritis has gone to my feet and so I had to quit. Maybe if I do the biking again, maybe it will help my feet and can start up again in the fall. Good luck everyone and congratulations to all who have lost some pounds.

I'm a trying - got up early with the intentions of jumping on the exercise bicycle, only on it for 15 minutes when the phone rang - hate calls before 8am - then husband came in from the treadmill, and decided it was breakfast time. Had my usual slice of toast, orange juice and one cup of coffee. Had to drop off some clothes to the goodwill and do some grocery shopping. Had lunch - dish of plain yogurt, sliced fresh peach and water. Will probably have chicken for supper. Just remembered, I didn't weigh myself this morning. Will do as Vikki said - weigh once a week, and I'm going to think in 5 lb increments to lose. If I think of 40 lbs - I'll be discouraged before I begin. Got to go back and bicycle at least another 15-20 minutes.

How's everyone doing with the weight? I haven't lost anything - but I never got to exercise last week on the bike as it was in the room where my son was studying for his exam. But I got on it this morning, and I did do it for almost 25 minutes, so tomorrow I'll go a little longer.

I'm still doing good, but the last couple of weeks I have gained a few pounds and then lost them again...... I'm still having trouble eating out trying to get the carb count down to a science..... but I have been happy lately, and feel good...... In fact, I may have to go shopping before I take my trip to NH, cause my clothes are getting big on me, I went to the store the other day to buy me a pair of pants and was surprise to fit into an 16W (these was stretch waste line, and I was able to get into a 18W pair of jeans that were not, when I started my lifestyle I was wearing a size 24W.....so I will try to continue what I'm doing, at least till I go see my doctor next week for blood work...and based on that I will have to see....
