I was asked to post the patterns for the two Thanksgiving cards I had posted here - the turkey and the indian girl. I got these patterns from members on the circleofcrafters.com site. They only ask that if you use their pattern, that you do not claim it to be your own and they also like it if you could acknowledge them as the originator of the pattern. The turkey pattern was made by "Larry" and the indian girl by "Dedde" If you haven't visited the COC site, give it a try. Every month we get a free IF pattern, as well as teabag patterns and tiles. Enjoy Ginny

The turkey pattern is to light to see, so I do have another pattern that is bigger and easier to do if anyone is interested I will post that one. I think Auntb has a card I sent her on her photo album if you wanted to see what it looked like.

Thanks Ginny. I love the Indian girl. So do you use these to make a stencil and cut around it then do the folds below?

I trace the pattern onto whatever I'm using as my background paper, cut it out with my exacto knife (some use scissors to cut - but I do much better with the knife) and then put my backing paper pattern size face down on the original pattern and start folding. Sometimes, I use what was cut out from the backing paper as a decoration for another card - depends on the size of the pattern.

Thanks Ginny. I may try this - might need to get a book on it though...but am willing to give it a go :-)
