Was at Sams today and happened to be over around the area where the computers are and they had a Cricket for $197. It appeared to be the larger one that cut 12x12, had George program, a tote carrying case and probably something else, but didn't write it down. First I've seen them at Sams. I was busy buying husband's presents, and didn't think he would want one, so didn't buy it.

You should buy it , wrap it up from santa with your name on it ,stick it under the tree Christmas eve and be surprised on Xmas morn.
Whoo hoo santa brought me a crafting gift.

Gee - guess what I'm getting for xmas. Hubby took off today and when he got back, said "Hope this is what you were talking about". Didn't give it to me tho - have to wait and act surprised.

if it is .. then go to a craft store that sales them and buy a couple more of the mats .. cause they are suppose to last only for like 25 uses each .. and ya mite try that tacky stuff everyone has been postin about an see how it really works on the used up mat ... ya know ..
but if it is ... Congratssssssssss .... I think you will love it .. really I do ... that is the first toy that ever made me wish I didnt' have this dany carpal tunnel soooo bad .. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lololololol
now stay as busy as possible and don't think about it .. lololol ohhhhhh the waitingggg now .. dangggggggg .... lolol

oh Ginny you'll going love it!!....now if it is what ya think it is,,yall have to get that other program too so you wont have to buy all the cartridge,,
I still havent set down to learn how to make my own yet,,I was thinking Brooke you;ll so good with Html stuff,,by any chance do you know anything about a program call inkscape? and svg ?..if so maybe ya can teach me how do use it,,lol

Hey all you cricket experts - just figure on me asking all kinds of questions. tmarie - are the ones you mentioned - are they the ones you downloaded for free? I'll probably just wait till you have all that down pat - and then I'll get in touch with you.

yes Ginny the svg images I found are free but you have to buy the program called
"sure cuts alots" to be able to use the computer to cut them with your machine.But there is another program called inkscape which is free..but with it you can make you own SVG images and cut any image you want,,,or till the cows come home..lol,,but I should add you still need the program called "sure cuts alot" to cut them too. ..but it is better then having to pay $40- to $80 for each cartridge..

Hi tmarie
Just looking at the "surecutsalot" website and it said for the CD it is $90, to download $75. I take it you haven't done either and I know I won't for a couple of months, till I learn what all this does. I'm so computer dumb that I always take the CD in case I goof I figure I can always redo it, but if I download, I'm always afraid that I'll do it wrong. Have you done anything on it yet?
In case you haven't noticed - I'm just going to wait till my "leader" does something! Of course, I don't have to worry about this for at least a week, as its already wrapped and under the tree.

Ginny ... as far as I am concerned buyin or downloading off the net ... I find its best for me to get the cd .. cause if your puter crashes or ya have problems with your puter then its NICE to have the cds to re-install the programs with ... ya know .. jmo on it ...
and for what TMarie is talkin it would be nice to have the cd so that you always have it handy for anything ... lololol espcially if ya upgrade the puter ... ya know ...

I just saw where our local AC Moore has the cricket on sale for 199.99. I don't do card's so nothing I would be interested it. But it sure does a nice job from what I have seen of the card's.

Ginny,,I do use the sure cuts alot program,,but not the Cd,,I heard you can just make a copy yourself,,,but havent done that,,I think all you would have to do it reload the program and then type in your code they give you and should be fine,,,,,it is the inkscape one that I havent figure out yet, for making my own images,,,lol but I'm working on it,,lol,....and I love it,,,,and I dont think I will buy another Cricut cartridge EVER..dont have to, But I did put a link to them look under cuddle bug and cricut thread ,With the sura cuts alot program you can down load any front (lettering) you want,,,and just learn how to weld the letters togther,,lol,,so it would be just one piece when you go to cut them,and also I found so many Svg files for free,,,I will try and figure a way to show you all the images I have..and there are so many more I havent down loaded yet,,that is the one draw back it does take time to down load them,
if you have any more question ,,I will try and answer them,but I no expert....lol
