okay ladies, are any of you having a get together for christmas eve, if so what is on your menu. I'm looking to complete my menu but looking for a holiday salad to go with turkey, baked apple cider glazed ham, meatballs in crockpot, sweet and sour sausages, green beans, sausage apple cranberry dressing, loaded baked potato soup, OH yeah, I have to have a corn casserole for my dd... anyone with an idea for a salad...

Vikki, I like the looks of a 7 layer salad in a truffle dish or other glass bowl. greens, red onion , circles of green peppers, red cabbage, you name it. LOOKS SO FESTIVE. If I am invited, I will bring the salad. What time is dinner served?

Oh Brooke... hubby's are all welcome, the more the merrier... especially for the men's christmas shoe shopping game... I think they are going to have fun with this one.... All the ladies are going to go into the living and put their shoes that they wore to the party in a line, and then the hubby's are going to go in and get there wives shoes and put them on their feet and the first person to finish is going to get a give card $25.00 to walmart... now if there is a tie them they have to guess the shoe size???
Tiny- thanks for the suggestion on the layered salad, which I do llike but normally after the first few folks in the bowl then it becomes a little missy looking so I have decided that I'm going to make a strawberry pretzel salad.

I have a jello salad that not only can be used as a salad at a meal or if you run short on desserts - it has been used for that. Its called Purple Cow and is raspberry jello, blueberry pie filling, crushed pineapple, nuts, sour cream and cream cheese. Sounds like a lot of fun at your house on Christmas Eve - all you need is SNOW

roberta, your meal sound s yummy and your party sounds fun! unfortunately I won't be able to make it because have the entire family here (you all are invited here!). I would like to know if you could share the directions to the games you listed that you will be playing. I have written down the men's Christmas shoe shopping. If you don't have time, I understand, everyone is busy. thanks, kathy
