defrag time again !!!
just a friendly reminder that its time to defrag again
whats it been  a week .. a month ..
if your answer is MONTH then its definitely time to defrag .. yesssssss it is !!!!!!!

My computer is set to defrag itself once a week. But, I am going to have to clean mine up as I did get hit by something my firewall deleted, but, it took an important file with it.
So maybe Sunday is clean up computer day

My puter is set to defrag weekly, but I usually do it myself about every three weeks, just to mske sure.

I'm afraid to do much of anything with my computer. For the last week I've been having a problem. Whenever I would attempt to go on the internet, it would take me 3-4 times as I kept getting the message that I couldn't get into the web page. And then the next try and I could connect. Well, Wed. afternoon this happened and we tried off and on and finally at 10pm we were able to connect. Thursday had no problems till 6pm and never got back on so today at 9am I called server and went through various hoops and got it running - 2 hours later - same thing. Called again, did a few more things, got it running for 2 hours. So called server again and did some more things. We are now into the 3rd hour and it is still working. Of course, no one gives you an answer as to what may have been the trouble. Got pretty good at connecting and disconnecting the motem(?) and the wireless box and deleting various things. Hope this works.
I should probably defrag it again, but may wait and see what happens.

sometimes if you get tooo many cookies, and don't delete history it will also give you that ..
thats why I am always after everyone to do the defrag .. it puts everything back where it should be.
those that have THE BIG E !!! SERVER : INTERNET EXPLORER : NOT sure about the other ones... OK ...
you can look at the top here where it says TOOLS ... open that ...
go to INTERNET OPTIONS ..... WHEN THAT WINDOW OPENS ...
CLICK ON THE BUTTON UNDER BROWSING HISTORY .... DELETE BUTTON
WINDOW OPENS ... TEMPERARY FILES ... COOKIES ... HISTORY ... CLICK ON EACH .. AND LET IT DELETE EACH ONE FOR YOU ... OK !!!
Each time you open a window .. or load a page you will get a cookie .. so do NOT worry about deleting the cookies ... it is safe ...... ok ...
this will also keep a page from opening if you do NOT clear this up at times tooo ... or cause the puter to run really slow .. or both !!!!!

What I normally use as a example on the defrag ......
its like being at your desk paying bills ..... say you just :
paid January .. but left them scattered, did not file away ...
then you do February .. then March ... then April ....
if you do NOT file them away you end up maybe with a real big mess on the desk ?? hmmm
so you then file away ... which takes more time than if you had just paid the bills and filed at that time !!!!!
Well everytime you open a site .. and close it .. the computer then leaves it where it opened it instead of refiling it ... thats why the DEFRAG is neccessary to do ...
AND everytime you open a site you get a cookie ...
sometimes even opening a page can give you a cookie ...
sooooooo defrag and emptying the files is a must ....
orrrrrrrrrr ... pay the penalty of : not being able to open a site or page ... and a slow running computer !!!!!
so defragggggggggggg !!!! ..... lololol

Something else also ::::
something that I found out by accident ... each page has a number of what is called frames .. those are listed individually in the temp file .. and each page has atleast 10 frames in it .. that toooooo adds up in the temp file ...
For Example ::: ... when you open this site .. you get maybe a cookie .. or maybe 5 cookies .. but you get atleast from 10 to 30 frames ..... yepperssssss you doooooooo .. for reallls here ...
each item has its own little frame ... look at the one on here for swaps : there is like 10 swaps mentioned ... welllllllll thats 10 frames / boxes .. alllll by itself .. yepp it is ...
look at the sections or the list on the opening page ... count the different things .. you get about that many frames in temp files listing ... and then there is the flip flopping back an forth ..
you come in here this site .. you receive say 20 frames .. then you click on lounge .. another 10 frames ... click on one item listed in lounge .. another 10 frames .. click to reply .. another 10 frames ...
and if you ck it out by counting : there is the frame/ box for : search, remove bookmark, add poll, reply, send topic to friend, print, quick reply, post reply, shortcut to Quick Reply box ... etc ... each has its own frame .. I just listed 10 items .. and thats NOT everything on this page either !!! thats NOT even half of whats listed on this page ...
that alllllll takes up room in the temp files .. so basicially your removing all that when you clear the temp file .. and the history is every page you open ...
it alllllll adds up to SLOW RUNNING PUTER ... CAN'T OPEN A PAGE !!!!!

dang if my Pc didnt lock up on me again and we had to reload windows yes again,and now were sitting here trying to reload everything ..lol we are having trouble doing the printer tho,,we share one and dang I think it is the pc and not us.we cant get the dang thing to give us a name of the dang printer,,,,,lol..but we always forget how we do it everytime,,,,lol,,,john goes oh no were going have to do that dang printer AGAIN,,,,,,,,lol,,so for now I ant got no printer..boo whoo,,,,,,lol

ohhhhhh that sounds like when Bill was trying to get the Laptop to recognize the printer ... hmmmmmm I will ask him .. But isn't the name of your printer on it didn't your printer come with a cd ?? for installation purposes you mite have the wrong drivers loaded for it ... I will ask Bill when he gets up ... |

oh Judy we finally got it loaded,,,the printer itself is download and is hooked up to john's PC and we have a network thingy and we share the same printer,,,at one point i was sitting in the back room,working on my baby book and here comes john heading out the back door with my pc ,and he said he was going throw the dang thing out the back door..lol,,he took it out side to blow all the dust and gunk out of it and it was loaded too,,,,lol,, then he put some of kind of board it in and then put a cd in there to relaod the network thingy,,he said it didnt do it even tho it should have when he reloaded windows,,.I just know am so glad he knows what he is doing cas I sure in the heck wouldnt know how to do any of that stuff,,so I will keep him around for awhile,,,,,lol
