I received this email a few minutes ago. I'll try to copy it! Did you girls know this? I didn't and I'm calling the 888 number!
REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public next month. REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls.
.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 . It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds.

Well I sure will give them a call. I keep getting one from the warranty on my car. And the warranty is not out. Jerry is getting one of his phone for home siding. So I sure will give that number a call.

If it is the same one I called a while back, it takes about a month after you call for it to take effect. Seems like the one I called was a government one though. Maybe it is all the same.

oh tmarie... you just made me laugh... one time when I was working as a telemarketer at the funeral home One of the sales folks asked me to call this lady to set up appointment for her to come and view her prearranged marker that she had purchase for the correct spelling and everything before it was ordered they always made sure everything was in placed and then the marker was sent to be made and when I call the lady and told her I was from the funeral home she stated I'm notdead and not buying anything and then hung up on me, so I thought hmmm do I call her back or what?? After taking a smoke break I decide to call her back and she picked up the phone I said hello and she then slammed the phone in my ear, so I decide to get her address and drive to her house with the paperwork for her to sign and when I knock on her door with a no soliciting sign on it, she came to the door just a hollering and I said Mrs. XXXXX I'm not here to sell you anything just to get your approval so that your marker can be processed that you purchase and since you hang up on me twice I thought that maybe you were having a bad day, and if you wish for me to leave then I will do so and you can will your marker to your children and let them do it... and she oh no dear, please come in and I'm truly sorry I just can't stand telemarketers... I just laughed and said I do know what you mean.....So Tmarie... the moral of my story to you is be careful cause one day you may have them show up at your door...lol

Thank you. I, for one, do not want to be bothered by unnecessary calls. I guess it may, or may not, be true. However, I am not taking any chances, and have called the 888 number. I guess it is a personnal choice, to get on the "Do Not Call List" or not. It does take a month to get on the list, I have found out after calling, and a month of unwanted calls can use up a whole lot of minutes!!! Thanks!

I decided not to take any chances with the telemarketers calls - they always call at supper time - so I registered both our cell and home phone. When we get a call, we quite often just put the receiver down and walk away and pretty soon, they realize they are talking to air.
