Okay I must have missed this type of partying in my life cause I have never heard or attended a cookie exchange party, but I got invited to one today, for next Saturday. But my question is since there is 15 folks attending I was told I had to make 15 dozens of the same cookie and bring, but would it be not acceptable to make dark and white chocolate covered pretzels and put them in a gift bag to take? ? I hate to call her and tell her that I can't come to the party since she has invited me to three other parties that I couldn't go to due to work but with christmas eve coming upon me soon and all the work I have to do for that I just don't seem to have enough time to make 15 dozens of cookies, so will the covered pretzels work?

I don't see any reason why not redrooster, I know there are chocolate covered pretzel's in the cookie aisle at the local grocery store's. I would be happy to get them in exchange. Roberta

i've been in a couple of cookie exchanges and there was always some who brought something other then cookies , one lady brought in rum bars ,another time someone brought in peppermint bark so i would think that the covered pretzels would be OK .......... of course just my opinion

The cookie exchange that I went to, I just had to bring a dozen cookies. Had to wrap each cookie in saran wrap and that way not everyone was handling the cookies directly. Fifteen dozen seem like a lot to me. I would settle for the pretzels.

well thank you ladies, cause I have decided to do the chocolate covered pretzels and then I will take 15 of the round coke bottles filled with M &M's with the M&M poem on it..... I just hope that I don't fill left out of place.... I may even just go and buy oreo's and put a stick in the middle of it and then cover them with chocolate and put christmas sprinkles on them.. I made them last year for my open house and everyone seemed to really enjoy them....not that much time to make them...

Judy and all. I have to agree 15 dozens seems like alot to me too. However, the lady who is having the party is pregant and already has 3 children so I think it's an avenue to save her time baking a vary of cookies for her family...and this way she can spend more time with them. But I will see when I get there...lol
