I made this earlier this summer-it was for a swap. I still have not heard from the receiver, so I thought I would share with all of you. It is pressed flowers from my yard.

Whenever I try to do anything with pressed flowers, they just fall apart

Hi Jen, If I can be of any help let me know. I press my flowers in old hard bound books and use the microwave. I use YES glue for attaching the flowers. old book viva paper towels less than half power on microwave for 3 min.--let book set under weight for 2 days--ready to use. I spread my glue and then lay the flower on. I always try to play with my arrangement, so I know where each flower is going.
The picture is one that I made for my granddaughter room when she was born- She is now 4--ithave faded a little but not to bad. With these I used only a tiny amount of glue-as they have a glass over the top of them. The back ground is mulberry paper which makes a nice pattern.

I tried the microwave thing on defrost LOL! and my book went brown and soft and then fell apart - so did my flowers. I must have done something wrong, or rather, everything wrong

jen, Does you microwave have a hi, med and low or different setting. Mine has power of High (10) to low of 1 . I use 4. Defrost is not the same. If you book turned brown you for sure had it on two high a temp. One of my books has lost it glue and fell apart-but I have been using it for 3 years every day in the summers. Connie
